Jon Fordham | Director of Photography

Originally from Santa Ana, California, Jon was involved with the Central Florida filmmaking community for several years before relocating to New York. His work as a Director of Photography has enjoyed theatrical release, and screened at hundreds of film festivals around the world, as well as several cinematography seminars and lectures. Some of Jon's credits include the feature films Four Eyed Monsters (2007 Independent Spirit Award Nomination for Best Cinematography), Jack Smith & The Destruction Of Atlantis, A Four Letter Word,; the television series Any Given Latitude, Katie Brown Workshop Season 3 and short film Blackwater Elegy (Best Cinematography Award at the 2004 Thunderbird International Film Festival).

Jon's work also includes over 50 music videos for top directors such as Popcore, Whitey McConnaughy, Aggressive, Travis Kopach, ARK, Christopher Piazza, and Joshua Freeman. He has become a highly sought after Music Video DP having shot multiple critically acclaimed Top Ten Videos for major labels such as Atlantic, Universal, Island Def Jam, Mercury, Republic, Victory, Equal Vision, Fueled By Ramen / Decaydance, and Tooth & Nail; featuring such artist as Cobra Starship, Shiny Toy Guns, Circa Survive, Straylight Run, Buckcherry, Thursday, The Click Five, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Buddha Monk, Brooklyn Zu and many many more.

Jon studied Photography at Seminole Community College in Orlando, FL in 1995. After which he began working with several Florida based production companies learning the art and craft of film and video production. Aside from his experience with both 16mm and 35mm Film, he acquired an extensive working knowledge of video engineering during his years in video production before moving into the world of High Definition.

Jon won the Best Cinematography Award at the 2004 Thunderbird International Film Festival for his work on the film Blackwater Elegy. Blackwater Elegy, starring Barry Corbin (One Tree Hill, Northern Exposure) and John Cullum (Law & Order: SVU, ER) has screened at over a dozen film festivals in the United States as well as in Europe, and earned 7 Best Short Film Awards.

Jon has just wrapped principle photography on Casper Andreas’ feature film Between Love & Goodbye . Next, he will re-team with Blackwater Elegy Writer/Director Matthew Porter for Matthew's feature directorial debut The Dissection of Jason Mann.

Jon is currently signed to INNOVATIVE ARTISTS where he is repped by Jeff Mahoney and Robbyn Foxx for all Commercial and Music Video work.
